API Rationalization

• This will means we will need to write conversions if you do a change to the API(s). To allow upgrades/ etc. Also webhooks for CRDs.

• At this point we are setting up the process to get towards stable APIs, it make take some releases to get to a point where the APIs are fully stable

• How to progress this item?

  • In Team Platform, the platform (Porch) part can be discussed and progressed

  • Governance and processes should be taken in SIG-Network Architecture

O2 IMS Operator

• We dealt with the location of the code, the code will be in the Nephio repo for now.

• Discussion on the PR Adding O2IMS CRD for create cluster story by dkosteck · Pull Request #63 · nephio-project/api

  • @Wim Henderickx has reservations about the structure of the API that is proposed in the PR

  • @balaji varadaraju the API is coming from O-RAN

  • We have 2 options

    1. Do not accept the API at all

    2. Fix the API at the start and take the fixed API

    3. Accept the API and evolve it over time, working towards the API and feeding the results back to O-RAN

  • The process between O-RAN and Nephio is not clear, we should be able to improve the way specifications are written over time. We are collaborating with O-RAN but their process is very slow

  • We will ask the TSC for guidance on accepting this API and other APIs from O-RAN
